Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) has imposed a five-year ban on a “fan” for making a spot-fixing approach to fast bowler Luke Jongwe in August last year. ZC said that Jongwe had immediately reported the approach to the authorities.”Edward Walter Mupangano, a 27-year-old cricket fan from Harare who in the past also had playing trials with a local club, received the sanction after he approached Luke Jongwe on 4 August 2022 and sought to introduce him to an Indian bookmaker who allegedly wanted the player to bowl in a pre-arranged manner during an international match in return for a payment amounting to US$7000,” ZC said in a statement.”The facilitator himself would allegedly receive US$3000 if the planned corrupt activity was successful.”The board said Mupangano had accepted the charge of violating the anti-corruption code and that he had been banned from all ZC-affiliated events, activities and venues for five years.In the wake of this incident, ZC called for Zimbabwe to make “fixing and any other sporting corruption a criminal offence” under the country’s law.”It is our view that harsh sanctions, including custodial sentences, will go a long way in helping cricket to curb one of the biggest threats to its credibility,” ZC chair Tavengwa Mukuhlani said. “Criminalising match-fixing and spot-fixing will send a strong warning to offenders and would-be offenders that corruption has no place in cricket and those who engage in it should be jailed or put out of the game.”ZC said it would “intensify its anti-corruption education drive within its structures and continue working with the ICC to ensure that cricket locally and globally is not tainted”.”The integrity of ZC and the game itself is of paramount importance and, therefore, the need to maintain high levels of honesty and professionalism at all levels of the game cannot be overemphasised,” ZC managing director Givemore Makoni said. “Let me take this opportunity to place on record our thanks to Luke Jongwe for reporting the approach – this is what is expected of all participants in cricket if we are to keep our game clean.”Jongwe, 28, has played one Test, 37 ODIs and 45 T20Is for Zimbabwe since making his debut in 2014.

وعن المباراة نفسها، قال: “أعتقد أننا كنا الطرف الأفضل، خاصة في الشوط الثاني، شعوري أننا كنا نستحق هدفًا، لكن المباراة انتهت بالتعادل، والخصم القادم سيكون مختلفًا تمامًا، وعلينا أن نستعد له”.

واختتم تصريحاته: “كثيرون لا يدركون أننا فريق شاب جدًا، وإنتر ميامي نادٍ حديث العهد، وجودنا هنا في كأس العالم للأندية هو إنجاز كبير يجب أن نُقدره، بغض النظر عن النتيجة”.

Luís Fabiano conquistou oRio-São Paulo de 2001 e um dos mais recentes e memoráveis do time: a Copa Sul-Americana de 2012, onde sua atuação foi polêmica.

Na ocasião, o camisa 9 da época foi expulso ainda na primeira etapa do jogo de ida da final, quandotomou um cartão vermelho diante do Tigre e ficou de fora do segundo confronto – que tornou o São Paulo campeão do continental.

Já Calleri, que retornou ao clube em agosto de 2021, não jogou no Campeonato Paulista do último ano, que no caso, foi o último título ganho pelo Tricolor, após passar por uma seca que perdurou anos.

Além do estadual, o time não conquista nenhum título de maior expressão há quase uma década. O atual artilheiro do clube tem como meta romper este jejum e carimbar de vez o seu nome na história do São Paulo.

Com bons números nesta temporada, o argentino já entrou para o ranking de artilheiros estrangeiros do São Paulo e ultrapassou – somando todas as suas passagens – suas marcas na Europa.

Até o momento, há três oportunidades para Calleri ser campeão pela primeira vez com a equipe: Campeonato Brasileiro, Copa Sul-Americana e Copa do Brasil.

O confronto válido pelo jogo de ida quartas de final da Copa do Brasil acontece nesta semana, na quinta-feira (28), às 20h, no Morumbi, contra o América-MG. Sem dúvidas, este seria o de maior significado para o atleta, uma vez que o Tricolor nunca ganhou a competição.

With the Blues’ Premier League status looking all but secured for another season, attention is gradually turned to potential summer signings, as Moyes looks to take his team up a level in 2025/26.

One player who Everton have been linked with is Emanuel Emegha, who is currently plying his trade at Strasbourg, scoring 11 goals in Ligue 1 so far this season. He is seen as a long-term replacement for Dominic Calvert-Lewin, should the Englishman leave this summer.

He isn’t the only possible successor to Calvert-Lewin leading the line for the Blues, however, with Fenerbahce marksman Semih Kilicsoy another name who has been thrown into the mix.

In defence, Michael Keane will need to be replaced in the summer transfer window, with Thomas Kristensen mentioned as an option to come in. The Udinese centre-back is the subject of plenty of interest away from Everton, however, with West Ham United, Juventus and AC Milan among those battling to snap him up.

Moyes personally pushing for Everton to sign player

According to Nixon on Patreon [via Football League World], Everton are still pushing to sign West Brom attacker Tom Fellows this summer, with Moyes actively pursuing a move for him by sending his coaching staff to watch him.

Alan Irvine and Charlie Adam were sent to view him last week, however, there was a problem as he actually missed the Baggies’ clash with Burnley due to a family bereavement.

The fact that Everton were also reportedly looking to sign Fellows in the January window suggests that they see him as a genuinely strong target, with their interest not going away.

It was always going to be tricky to prise him away from the Hawthorns midway through the season, given his importance to West Brom, but they will find it harder to keep him this summer, especially if they fail to earn promotion from the Championship to the Premier League.

Fellows, who could cost at least £20m this summer, has enjoyed an excellent campaign for the Baggies, registering 11 assists in the league, which is the joint-most alongside Middlesbrough’s Finn Azaz, and Karlan Grant has lauded him, saying:

“He’s an unbelievable young player. As soon as he does that step-over, I know the ball’s going to be arriving at the back stick and there’s going to be chances.”

While some Everton supporters may struggle to get overly excited about the Blues signing a Championship player, instead wanting someone to arrive from one of Europe’s top leagues, Fellows is a youngster with so much long-term potential.

Cricket is poised to become the first sport in Australia to break the six-figure wage mark for the vast majority of its domestic female athletes, with players on state and WBBL contracts to earn an average of AU$151,000 from next season.Cricket Australia and the players’ union are closing in on finalising the sport’s new pay deal, with a Memorandum of Understanding likely to be announced as soon as early this week.Final details are still being sorted, through a negotiation that has been largely amicable and headed by Cricket Australia chief executive Nick Hockley and union counterpart Todd Greenberg.Sources from both sides have confirmed talks have been far removed from the dramas of the pay war of 2017, which resulted in an abandoned tour and threats of strikes.The big winners of the deal will be domestic female cricketers. AAP has been told that the lowest-paid players with state and Women’s Big Bash League contracts will earn AU$83,000, with state squad sizes to increase from 14 to 16 across each of the seven WNCL sides.Players will also continue earn match fees for WNCL matches beyond their salary, meaning a significant portion of those on a minimum salary will earn more than AU$100,000 in 2023-24.Ultimately, the deal will take the average salary to AU$123,000 and AU$151,000 after match fees.In comparison, players with a minimum WNCL and WBBL contract last year who received full match payments were paid AU$70,000.The deal will rocket cricket well above other women’s sports, with its nearest competitor being Super Netball where the minimum salary is AU$43,000 with no additional match payments.The AFLW minimum wage sits at close to AU$40,000, while NRLW is AU$30,000 and A-League women’s is AU$25,000.It’s also believed that contract values will significantly increase in the WBBL for overseas and Australia’s centrally contracted stars in a bid to keep the league competitive with England’s Hundred and other franchise tournaments.Organisers are hopeful the pay rise will be able to continue to attract the best overseas talent to Australia, for a tournament that was once unrivalled as the stand out in global women’s cricket.The deal will also mean Australia’s centrally contracted players have the potential to earn close to AU$1 million a season, when factoring in national deals and big-money offers from the WPL.

The Premier League side are indeed in the market for a new striker, with it being reported last week that Forest have made contact with Viktor Gyokeres’ representatives over a potential move to the City Ground. Their search doesn’t stop there, as The Boot Room state that the Reds are ready to move for Matheus Cunha, as they continue talks over a move this summer having been linked in January.

Cunha’s representatives and Forest have remained in contact, and Reds chiefs believe the player would likely be interested in a move. Brentford’s Yoane Wissa is also a target for Forest – another who was of interest during the January transfer window. Wissa will enter the final year of his contract this summer, and he could be available for between £15-20 million.

Marinakis and Nottingham Forest want to sign £63m star

Surprisingly, the list of potential new strikers at the City Ground does not stop there, as according to TEAMtalk, Nottingham Forest are showing an interest in signing Victor Osimhen from Napoli once his loan spell at Galatasaray ends.

The report states that Marinakis is already planning for next season, and given that he is ambitious and wants to establish the Reds among the elite in England and Europe, he is ready to spend big if they qualify for the Champions League. In fact, Marinakis is ready to break the bank to bring in some big-name players, and given they want an elite number nine, they have turned their attention to Osimhen.

The Reds are said to have looked at the Nigerian’s situation, as the Italian side are keen on selling Osimhen permanently in the summer, but it is said that the player himself will demand high wages and wants to play for an elite club.

TEAMtalk state that Forest would have no problems paying the required wage, but it is unclear how much they are willing to spend to sign him, as he’s got a release clause worth £63 million.

– Posso jogar linha de quatro, ou com uma linha de cinco defensores. Me sinto mais cômodo jogado por algum dos lados, mas posso jogar pelo centro também. Como em todos os lados, farei uma competição saudável com meus companheiros. A decisão quem toma é o técnico, se for para eu ficar fora, ficarei fora e esperarei o momento. Se estiver em campo, darei o melhor possível para ajudar a equipe.

Ao explicar suas características durante a entrevista de apresentação, o novo camisa 44 procurou explicar o que pensa da posição de zagueiro e mostrou conhecimento das tarefas que terá de ter em campo para agradar Ceni.

– Um zagueiro, o trabalho dele é defender, isso não se negocia. Tem que estar concentrado 100%. Depois com bola, tem que saber quando tem que jogar e quando não tem que jogar. Fazer as coisas bem e ajudar a equipe.

Sincero ao apontar as dificuldades de não atuar profissionalmente desde maio, quando acabou a temporada portuguesa, onde estava defendendo o Estoril, Ferraresi, apontou que será franco também à comissão técnica sobre o melhor momento para fazer sua estreia pelo time do Morumbi.

-Ainda esta semana vamos arrumar algumas coisas, seguirei treinando com o grupo, falarei com o grupo técnico, se eu me sentir bem falo com eles, se não me sentir bem falo também.

Por fim, o novo defensor tricolor valorizou o fato de ter a oportunidade de jogar no São Paulo ao lado de nomes que aprendeu a admirar no futebol europeu, como o zagueiro Miranda, o lateral Rafinha e o atacante Éder.

– Obviamente eu fico orgulhoso de compartilhar clube com o Miranda, sempre segui o futebol internacional e vi ele jogando pelo Atletico de Madrid, e não só ele, o Rafinha, Eder… e compartilhar momentos com eles, me faz aprender para somar.
